Meet Jacqueline N. Parke,  Academy Director + Lead Instructor

Jacqueline N. Parke is an expert in podcasting and author, educator, and content strategist with over 25 years of experience in marketing, business development, and communications across the legal, sports, and entertainment industries. She is the founder of JNParke Enterprise LLC, which includes Parke Podcast Academy and Sweet G. Communications, a podcast production company.

At Sweet G. Communications, Jacqueline served as the executive producer for HWTP Sports Talk with David Weinstein, a program that highlighted social issues through the lens of sports and featured five-time Super Bowl champion Pepper Johnson. Additionally, she worked as a consulting producer on The Luke Show, hosted by Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell—an influential rapper, record producer, and filmmaker, and produced for Grammy-nominated artists.  She also produced proof-of-concept podcasts for Warner Bros. Discovery’s One-Fifty, collaborating with writers and producers, as well as for leading legal multimedia companies and prominent law firms.

Jacqueline authored The Podcast Handbook: Create It, Market It, Make It Great, a comprehensive academic guide to podcasting. Since 2020, she has taught Podcasting: Creation and Strategy at Mercy University, a course she developed.

Her media appearances include the New Books Network, Mercy University Alumni Spotlight, the Syracuse University ConnectEd talk, and the Practising Law Institute (PLI) presentation Elevating Legal Practice Through Podcasting. The ConnectEd series highlights thought leaders across industries, while PLI is a highly regarded provider of continuing legal education and is known for its elite programming and influence in the legal profession. Jacqueline’s expertise and passion for podcasting shine through her work in storytelling, strategy, and education.

Meet Robyn Greene Arrington, p.g.a, Instructor

Podcasting: Storytelling for Writers, Producers + Filmmakers

 

Robyn is a charismatic content creator adept at developing scripted and unscripted programming as an executive, writer, producer, director, and podcaster.  Her professional prowess has been acknowledged by prestigious recognitions, including an NYU Liberal Education Award in expository writing, a Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize nomination, and an official selection of the inaugural Essence Film Festival; other awards and nominations comprise of Telly Awards, Taste Awards, NAACP Image Awards, NABJ Awards, CableFax Program Awards, NAMIC Vision Awards, a GLAAD Media Award, an ABFF Award, a New York Festivals Award and a CTAM Mark Award.

 

Producing the Miramax nationally-distributed, theatrically-released indie film classic Hav Plenty and writing and directing #exercises/in/fertility, which is streaming on Mansa.com, are highlights of her career.  Most recently, Robyn was a Creative Executive in the scripted division at Paramount’s MTVE Studios and the Consulting Producer for a Tubi hit film, “The Caregiver.”  Before that, she was the Interim Head of Programming & Production for sister cable networks, TV One and Cleo TV.  As a freelancer, she worked for HBO, Lifetime, A&E, BET, Def Jam Recordings, and Uptown Records.  She holds a Master of Science in television-radio-film production from Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism from New York University.

Meet Sage Velastegui, Instructor

Audio + Video Editing Essentials

 

Sage is a seasoned video producer, editor, and colorist with over ten years of experience covering every side of production. He has significantly contributed to the identity of Bleacher Report, generating over 30M views on social media with his unique storytelling approach. Notable projects include Taking It There with Taylor Rooks, Finish the Lyric and No Script with Marshawn Lynch.


In 2017, Sage was a key colorist for Complex’s Complex X Fuse and has since worked on several popular series like Hot Ones from First We Feast, GOAT Talk, and Sneaker Shopping. He has collaborated with brands such as NBC Universal, Equinox, Gatorade, Adidas, Nike, NFL Network, Ford, Google, Ralph Lauren, BuzzFeed, and Warner Music Group.


As an editor, colorist, and DIT, Sage has provided services to UPROXX for their shows, including Fresh Pair With Just Blaze & Katty Customs and People's Party with Talib Kweli. Specializing in features, doc-series, short films, branded content, and music videos, Sage has amassed over 500 million total views across his videos. Residing in New York City, he is skilled in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere, Audition, Lightroom, and Photoshop, and uses DaVinci Resolve for color grading. Sage's goal is to provide solutions for all production needs, and he is always excited to work with new clients to bring their vision to life.

Meet Jina Johnson, Instructor

Jina sees dead people. And love stories with weird twists—and gritty, political docs. There’s absolutely a network living inside her head.

​

A journalist, screenwriter, and stand-up comedian, Jina Johnson has been branded outspoken since her days as a panelist on BET’s award-winning talk show, Teen Summit. She has since made a name for herself as a producer, director, and on-camera talent for clients like Viacom/Paramount, CBS, NBC, Hulu, TV One, and The Ad Council, among others.

Committed to truth-telling in all forms, Jina has worked with award-winning news outlets like CBS This Morning and BET News, covering everything from presidential elections to award shows to breaking news content. Jina is a gifted marketing vet who has written, produced, and edited branding campaigns for series like Mr. Robot, Real Husbands of Hollywood, Deal or No Deal, and The BET Awards.

 

A recent graduate of the American Film Institute, the proud Howard University alum is currently working on a slate of TV and film projects ranging from rom-coms to dark comedies to supernatural dramas.

 

Jina is an avid ‘Netflix and chiller,’ She divides her time between LA, NYC and Atlanta.
